The 1970s
In order to satisfy the ever-growing demand for his quality products, Gérard Milette increases his production capacity by
building his own plant in the summer of 1971. Then, in the fall of 1978, the construction of a second plant and a warehouse
becomes necessary as well as the acquisition of more state-of-the-art machines and tools.
On March 15th, 1979, a fire destroys the production of the last three months. The stocks of finished products are entirely
destroyed and the company loses some 9 000 feet of storage surface. It is a difficult year for the Milette family, who has
five children, and it is even more difficult since the family residence is also destroyed by the flames. They have to start
all over again! They have to go back to square one.
