History
The 2000s
The beginning of 2000 is profitable due to a boom in the construction sector. Gérard Milette beats production and sales
records. The hiring rate is at its highest, since wood drying and lathing operations are still being realized at the plant.
In 2003, the biggest changes are translated in the expansion of the plant in order, this time, to proceed to the
manufacturing of panels and processing of pine fibres (MDF). The same year, Gérard Milette splits up the company into two
entities: one will be dedicated to retail sales (Gérard Milette portes & fenêtres) and the other will handle sales to
distributors (Portes Milette/Milette Doors). By getting a new logo, new colours and a more "exportable" name, Milette Doors
enters a new era.
The demand for white-primed doors continuing to grow, Milette Doors acquires, in 2004, state-of-the-art
machines to offer a product of the highest quality and then buys an ERP system to computerize key sectors and
facilitate the job of employees in the production, shipping, sales and invoicing departments.
Even though the president, Gérard Milette, remains very active in the company, shareholders, in collaboration with
consultants and since 2006, have seen to the preparation of the next generation to ensure corporate continuity.
In 2007, the 40th anniversary of Milette Doors monopolizes the attention. The fundamental values of the company having
always relied on family, the welfare of employees and customer satisfaction, the event is commemorated on three different
occasions.
In 2008, the company enjoys an incredible expansion by offering its customers a new range of products, thus proving it can
continuously satisfy their specific needs.
